About
Offering an intimate experience bringing guests face-to-face with the African wilderness, this luxurious Timbavati Nature Reserve camp truly has it all. It comprises a dozen gorgeous East African-style safari tents, plus a thatched main timber retreat. Especially popular hang-outs are the latter’s bar, which affords magnificent views of a watering hole popular with buffalo and elephant. For families and friends seeking total privacy, an exclusive mobile Field Camp is also available.
Accommodation
Individually-appointed, the 12 en-suite tents have private decks overlooking a dry riverbed and bathrooms featuring bathtubs and romantic outdoor showers. Alternatively, the Tanda Tula Field Camp (minimum stay 3 nights) is a mobile camp which is set up and taken down for each safari, and offering an experience away from the main lodge. Containing four custom-designed tents, each with open-air bush bathrooms, this experience is open to 2-8 guests on an exclusive basis.
Facilities
Exceeding luxurious and comfortable, Tanda Tula’s main area also houses sprawling, airy sitting and dining rooms. A small viewing hide at the water’s edge offers incredible close-up photo opportunities. Back at base, the freeform pool is surrounded by loungers. Lunches and dinners are set up in different, amazing locations, using convivial long table and premium wines.
Facilities
Game drives and walking safaris are complimentary. Each walking safari itinerary is individually tailored to suit guests' interests, while drives depart twice-daily and take a maximum of six people. The morning instalment concludes with an outdoor bush breakfast. As well as the Big Five, Timbavati is renowned for its famous white lions. For Field Camp guests, a private chef, ranger and vehicle can also be hired.
Child Policy
Children aged 8 and older are welcome. Field Camp is only suitable for children over 14 years old.
