11- Night Family Cape, Garden Route, Kalahari & Safari

This family friendly itinerary has been put together to showcase the diversity of activities and accommodation in South Africa taking in Cape Town, the garden route, the kalahari desert and finally a visit to the Greater Kruger Park area.  A total of 11 nights, you will experience all that this magnificent country has to offer, and it promises to be a family holiday that will not easily be forgotten. 

2 nights at Grootbos Lodge in Hermanus

3 nights in Cape Town with fabulous days out planned for the family including winelands adventure and a tour of Cape Point.

4 nights at the gorgeous desert safari lodge of Tswalu.  

3 nights at the family friendly, luxurious Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge in a luxury villa.

Air transfers are including between Tswalu and Sabi Sabi, and Sabi Sabi and Johannesburg - as outlined below.

9 out of the 11 nights are on a full board basis.

PLEASE NOTE: This price has been calculated based on 2 adults and 2 children under 12 sharing a family suite or villa.  Cost per adult is £7,050 and £1,831 per child. All prices are subject to availability.

Day 1

Welcome to Cape Town! You will be meet at your aircraft with your name on a paging board and assisted through immigration, baggage collection and customs. You will then be shown to you transfer vehicle. Transfer to Grootbos Garden Lodge - near Hermanus (approximately 1.5 hours) You will spend 2 nights at Grootbos Garden Lodge in a 2 bedroom luxury suite on a full board basis plus activities.

Situated between forest and ocean, this intimate lodge is most famed for its five-star accommodation within easy reach of sensational fynbos, hiking trails and shark cage diving.

Day 2

Activities included are guided walks including fynbos guided nature tour, Milkwood Walks, marine/coastal drives including Walker Bay Nature Reserve, De Kelders cliff walk, Klipgat Cave combined with seasonal land-based whale watching activities.

Day 3

Private Transfer from Grootbos Lodge to More Quarters in Cape Town City Bowl. Enjoy 3 nights in a two bedroom luxury apartment in the heart of Cape Town City Bowl. Includes: Breakfast and scheduled shuttle services to the V&A Waterfront.

Day 4

Travel to the naval town of Simon's Town, which is located on the False Bay coast of the Cape Peninsular to enjoy sea-kayaking, swimming and snorkelling. From there visit Cape Point and its outstanding wildlife and many isolated beaches. Head back to Cape Town via Noordhoek, over the world famous Chapman's Peak Drive, into Hout Bay and around the eastern seaboard to your hotel.

Day 5

Today you will head out to the winelands of Cape Town and enjoy a family friendly day of wine (and grape juice) tasting and food pairing including chocolate and cheese.

Day 6

Today you will be collected by private transfer and taken to Cape Town International Airport. Flight: Cape Town to Tswalu at 0750. *Please note that luggage restrictions apply to this flight. Arrive at Twalu Motse at 0950, where you will enjoy three nights on a full board basis.

Game Lodge

A unique game lodge with 9 luxury suites located in the Kalahari Desert.

Day 7

Visit the Meerkat colony, enjoy a horse-back safari or sit and enjoy the luxurious swimming pool.

Day 10

This morning you will depart Tswalu at 10.20 on a scheduled flight to Johannesburg International Airport, arriving at 11:50. You will be met off your flight and transferred to your private shuttle flight to Sabi Sand Game Reserve at 12:30. You will arrive at Sabi Sabi in time for the evening game drive after a relaxing and well deserved afternoon tea. You will spend three nights at Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge in a luxury villa.

One of the longest standing camps in the Sabi Sand Reserve, Bush Lodge’s 25 family friendly suites offer an oasis of refinement in the untamed African bush veld. 

 

Day 11

Enjoy a morning and evening game drive, with lots of relaxing in between.

Day 12

Depart Sabi Sands Game Reserve at 11:00 to Johannesburg International: Shuttle Flight. Connect to onward international flight.
