About
Hidden in suburban Claremont, a quick 15 minutes from Cape Town, lies a family run luxury hotel that is popular amongst celebrities and locals alike. A seven-acre estate lays home to a 207 roomed property that is affectionately known as The Vineyard Hotel. Named so for the Vineyards it is built amongst, planted by none other than Lady Ann Barnard – a testament that its history is as deep as its refinement.
The Vineyard Hotel is one of the greenest hotels in the area and is an award winning leader in “Responsible Hoteling”. Extensive solar paneling, composting and recycling are key components and receive a luxurious stamp at the Vineyard Hotel.
Accommodation
Guests can choose from 207 en-suite accommodations at the Vineyard Hotel. These feature standard double and deluxe rooms, junior suites, suites as well as cottages.
Each of these has been lavishly decorated with the discerning traveler in mind and offer views of the mountain or courtyard. The deluxe courtyard rooms, recently refurbished, offer private verandahs that open onto your own corner of the garden. Trees provide shade over head while the trickling of the water features nearby will provide a sense of calm and serenity.
The deluxe mountain rooms provide private sundecks from which to take in the glorious mountain view, while the cottages provide apartment-style living. Over-looking the working vineyard, a stay in one of the cottages is a real lesson in luxury.
Whether it’s the junior suite or the deluxe apartments, guests will enjoy ample space and the modern comforts of home, dripping in luxury.
Facilities
The Vineyard Hotel is home to 4 restaurants – including the award winning Myoga. The estate also boasts the Angsana Spa, a health and fitness area, as well as guided walks through the verdant gardens on the estate. Don't be surprised to see the resident tortoises in the well established gardens, a favourite for the children.
Child Policy
Children of all ages are welcome at the Vineyard Hotel. The hotel offers a great variety of activities for the kids during their stay.
The Best of South Africa Travel map displays the locations of the destinations and accommodation that we have selected and visited; for each item, hovering over or clicking the marker will display a short summary and photo of that place or hotel, and hotel pricing. Follow the links in the info box to the full page listing which has much more information.
Note that the online map offers both a satellite view (click satellite in the top right) and, for some locations, a street level view (Drag the person in the top left onto the map). These let you explore the country; and when you wish to explore in person, or if you have any questions about the places you see, give our staff a call, or request a quote. Our staff regularly visit the places and accommodation that we feature.
When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
