Just a juicy grape’s throw from Cape Town, this snoozy, intimate boutique hotel combines luxury, location and languor to a five-star level. Boasting elegant Cape Dutch-style architecture, The Last Word is flanked by eight premier vineyards in a prize position deep in the beautiful Constantia Valley, South Africa’s country’s oldest – and arguably most beautiful – wine-growing area.
Accommodation
The nine spacious rooms split into four categories, from Superior Double rooms with private patios up to a Family Suite with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a Nintendo Wii. In between are ground-floor Pool Suites with small private gardens and easy pool access, and vast Elegant Suites with balconies and extravagant bathrooms. All boast eclectic African art and 300-threadcount linen, but the real magic comes through extra touches: the complimentary mini-bars, the pre-run bubble baths and the tiny bowls of creme brulee left after each night’s turndown.
Facilities
The hotel’s tranquil location is enhanced by its serene feel. The main, glass-enclosed lounge is big, bright, airy and relaxing, while outside a sunken, heated pool and its surrounding, sprawling sun deck are framed by lush scented gardens. Fabulous valley views are a constant delight, and a glass of wine is never a bad idea.
Activities
A free shuttle serves Cape Town’s Waterfront, ten miles away, while personal chauffeurs can deliver guided wine tasting or city tours. Table Mountain, Cape Point, beaches, golf courses and the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden are all within easy reach. More active-minded guests opt to explore the surrounding mountains on horseback, or go hiking or cycling through the vineyards. Picnics can be provided for longer days out, and in-house spa treatments pre-ordered.
Child Policy
Children of all ages are welcome; those aged 11 or younger may share with parents in certain rooms for an extra charge.

When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
