About
Perched among a canopy of 100-year-old trees overlooking the Sabie River, Narina Lodge’s 9 Luxury Suites each afford complete privacy. Whether guests choose to spend time at their private plunge pool, reclining on the couch in the lounge, lazing on their bed with a good book, or soaking in a bubble bath, they will not be cheated of the breathtaking panorama.
Accommodation
The nine spacious, chic air-conditioned suites are reached along elevated plank walkways. Each has a private, Sabie-facing deck and plunge pool in which you can sit and while away hours, staring at whichever animals pass by. More views are offered by freestanding bathtubs and outdoor showers. Net-enclosed king-size beds, lounges and large bathrooms complete the charm offensive.
Facilities
In the main lodge’s sitting area, the atmosphere is unobtrusive and meditative: some wicker armchairs here, a thick sofa there and a silence interrupted only by gentle breezes or bush calls. Under a dense green canopy of ancient trees, the outside deck is another place to watch the world go by. Delectable dinners are served there, amid a cosy, open-air boma or in a candlelit riverside clearing. Massages and treatments are available upon request.
Activities
Game drives depart at daybreak and dusk to see Lion Sands’ prolific wildlife. In between, embark on interpretative game walks with experienced rangers and trackers, or take a devoted hippo tour. Those are included in the board, along with astronomy lessons. Hot-air ballooning and helicopter rides cost extra. Also additional are nights in nearby Tinyeleti Treehouse – a stilted four-person bedroom.
Child Policy
Children aged 10 and over are welcome, with tailored family programmes suited to teenagers – tracking animals via spoor identification, bush survival and treasure hunts.
The Best of South Africa Travel map displays the locations of the destinations and accommodation that we have selected and visited; for each item, hovering over or clicking the marker will display a short summary and photo of that place or hotel, and hotel pricing. Follow the links in the info box to the full page listing which has much more information.
Note that the online map offers both a satellite view (click satellite in the top right) and, for some locations, a street level view (Drag the person in the top left onto the map). These let you explore the country; and when you wish to explore in person, or if you have any questions about the places you see, give our staff a call, or request a quote. Our staff regularly visit the places and accommodation that we feature.
When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
