About
Not far from Port Elizabeth and the Garden Route, those in search of true savannah hospitality will find their perfect accommodation at Hlosi Game Lodge. Nestled neatly amongst the diverse bushveld of the Amakhala Game Reserve, this natural haven provides an intimate and personalised safari lodge experience – perfect for young and old adventurers and absolutely ideal for those with families.
The Amakhala Game Reserve places the utmost importance on conservation and the Hlosie Lodge is no different. Embracing the rolling hills of the Eastern Cape and untouched land, this upscale retreat is the perfect place to retreat to after a long day of celebrating the Big Five.
Accommodation
The Lodge comprises many individual buildings that make up the luxurious suites. While every need is carefully catered to here, the lodge does well to embrace the natural surroundings in its traditional safari lodge feel. However, modern touches can be found in all the rooms, providing a rustic-chic theme.
Guests can choose from six suites that have been carefully and stylishly decorated to provide the comforts of home without forgetting the natural splendor that surrounds them. Both the two-bedroom luxury family suites and one-bedroom king suites celebrate space and boast private decks from which to watch wildlife stories unfold across the vast plains below.
The four king suites and two family suites offer en suite bathrooms with indoor/outdoor showers and deep soaking tubs. The finest linens await those lucky enough to spend a night in these luxurious and well-appointed safari sanctuaries.
Facilities
Besides Big Five game viewing, Amakhala also offers safari boat cruises, fishing, archery, star gazing and bush walks. For those in search of more of a pamper, rejuvenating beauty treatments can be enjoyed in the comfort of guests’ own rooms or on their balconies with the sounds of nature aiding in your relaxation.
Child Policy
Children of all ages are welcome at Hlosie Game Lodge.
Hlosi Lodge has a fantastic kids programme called Cubs On Safari, which includes a daily programme run by an experienced team. Children over 6 years old are included on morning and evening game drives, and children under 5 can be included at the managers discretion. Additional shorter, more child friendly game drive options are available around midday for a nominal free of around £40 for up to 9 guests. Babysitting services and a dedicated children's room are also available.
The Best of South Africa Travel map displays the locations of the destinations and accommodation that we have selected and visited; for each item, hovering over or clicking the marker will display a short summary and photo of that place or hotel, and hotel pricing. Follow the links in the info box to the full page listing which has much more information.
Note that the online map offers both a satellite view (click satellite in the top right) and, for some locations, a street level view (Drag the person in the top left onto the map). These let you explore the country; and when you wish to explore in person, or if you have any questions about the places you see, give our staff a call, or request a quote. Our staff regularly visit the places and accommodation that we feature.
When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
