Garonga Safari Camp is an exclusive luxury bush retreat comprising of six spacious safari tents within the Makalali Game Reserve between Hoedspruit and Phalaborwa in South Africa’s Limpopo Province. Guests can enjoy a relaxing safari experience, as well as gourmet cuisine and first class service or even spend the night under the stars sleeping on a tree top deck overlooking the wilderness.
The sister camp, Little Garonga, is perfect for families and offers three beautiful suites for the use of a family or a small group of friends, with the emphasis on relaxation and pampering amid natural surroundings.
MCH Private Tented Camp is located on a hill 500m from Little Garonga, offering exclusive use for families or groups.
Accommodation
Each of the six spacious tented rooms are nestled into ebony trees along the banks of a water course and have private decks with hammocks. Interiors boast inviting draped beds and en-suite facilities including indoor and outdoor showers.
Little Garonga offers guests three superb suites. Each of the three spacious suites has its own private deck with hammock and is under thatch with full air-conditioning. Bathrooms feature gorgeous free standing tubs.
MCH has 4 en-suite tests with showers and a separate bath (half-inside, half-outside).
Facilities
Wallow in an outdoor bush bath or have a dip in the infinity pool. Relax in the large boma area for candlelit dinners, a raised open plan living/dining area with stunning views over the riverbed. A well stocked wine cellar offers wines from the Cape and abroad and a curio shop sells locally made African artefacts.
Little Garonga offers a swimming pool, barbecue area for the classic South African braai and a raised thatched massage sala. There's a breakfast deck and an air conditioned indoor lounge with ceiling fans, a dining area, lounge/seating area, fireplace, bar and reading area.
MCH facilities include lounge, swimming pool, outdoor dining and wi-fi. Please note that this camp is not wheelchair friendly.
Activities
Guided walks, game drives, bush picnics, bush baths and sleep-outs are complimentary at the lodge.
Child Policy
Children over the age of 12 are welcome at Garonga Safari Camp.
Children over the age of 6 are welcome at Little Garonga.

When you book a holiday with us we will provide full driving instructions for reaching your accommodation, where necessary; these can be used by yourself, or you could enjoy the luxury of a driver. Alternatively we will arrange private (car rather than coach) transfers for you; helicopter transfers are also possible for some destinations.
